We are currently the only Canadian disposable period care brand that is monitored by an independent 3rd party to ensure we're honouring our giveback committments and we're proud to set the pace. And emboldened periods? They don’t just change cycles. They change systems.

Our eco commitment

Our period care products use materials that are plant-based, biodegradable, organic and compostable. Many mainstream disposable options contain un-tested levels of chemicals that can cause irritation, and are made with non-renewable, petroleum-based plastic. Instead, joni organic bamboo menstrual pads feature a protective bio-film layer derived from renewable, plant-based materials. And our tampons are 100% organic cotton. We are working on a full joni product line of both reusable and disposable period care options because we believe you should be able to choose what works best for your body. As our bodies and cycles change, so do our needs, period care is about choice, not an either / or.

Our accessible period care commitment

joni is on a mission to make period equity possible. We use at least 2% of our revenue each year to provide ongoing period product support to our non-profit partners who ensure they get into the hands that need them most. At the front lines fighting period poverty and driving menstrual equity forward, these partners are instrumental in advocating for new policies and initiatives across Canada. Your period should never be the reason you have to sit on the sidelines.

At joni, we’re proud to support women, and everyone who menstruates, in sports. Playing sports—especially team sports—can be a profoundly positive experience, building confidence, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships.

But the reality is that 1 in 3 girls stop playing sports once they get their period, and many more miss opportunities because they don’t have access to the pads and tampons they need. We’re here to change that.

By providing period care where it’s needed most, we’re helping level the playing field.

joni is proud to provide free pads and tampons to the athletes of the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
