Our Impact
joni is certified B Corp impact brand that considers the triple bottom line: we make products that benefit the environment, are good for our bodies, and give back to support our communities. We are currently the only Canadian disposable period care brand that is monitored by an independent 3rd party to ensure we're honouring our giveback committments and we're proud to set the pace. Whether it's working with non-profit organizations or disrupting the period care industry with innovative and sustainable products, we're here to create a future of emboldened periods for every body.
Our BLEED mission.
We believe periods should never be a source of shame, silence, or struggle.
They are powerful. Natural. Unapologetic.
And when we stop hiding them — when we honour them — they become a force for change.
At joni, we make impact-driven period care from ethically sourced materials that put people and the planet first.
Because no one should have to choose between their health, their dignity, and what they can afford.
And no one should be left behind because of something as fundamental as their period.
We’re here for every body: every flow, every identity, every barrier broken.
We show up in schools, in shelters, in lockers and boardrooms — just like toilet paper.
Because access is a right, not a luxury.
We give back. We speak up. We take up space.
We challenge what’s “normal,” rewrite what’s “discreet,” and reject the idea that our cycles define us.
It’s how we all got here and we’re done whispering about it. joni is more than a product. It’s a movement.
And emboldened periods? They don’t just change cycles. They change systems.
Our menstrual justice commitment.
54% of menstruators surveyed lack confidence in public spaces to support their period needs.
Our Cost of Silence research puts data behind the barriers people experience every day — and gives us a roadmap for building something better.
Our eco commitment.
We choose materials with purpose — balancing performance, comfort and environmental impact.
joni pads start with a soft top sheet made with viscose from certified organic bamboo with a leak-proof backsheet and wrapper that are certified for home and industrial compostability. Our pads are also approximately 92% biodegradable within 12 months under standard compost conditions.
Our tampons are made with 100% organic cotton, including the absorbent core and string, and come individually wrapped in certified compostable cellulose film.
We believe better period care is also about choice. That’s why our lineup includes both disposable and reusable options, including leakproof period underwear. Bodies change. Cycles change. What works for you can change, too. Period care shouldn’t be either/or — it should give you options.
Our accessible period care commitment.
joni is on a mission to make period equity possible. We use at least 2% of our revenue each year to provide ongoing period product support to our non-profit partners who ensure they get into the hands that need them most. At the front lines fighting period poverty and driving menstrual equity forward, these partners are instrumental in advocating for new policies and initiatives across Canada. We're stronger together!
Our non-profit partners:
Our community commitment.
Your period should never be the reason you have to sit on the sidelines.
At joni, we’re proud to support women, and everyone who menstruates, in sports. Playing sports—especially team sports—can be a profoundly positive experience, building confidence, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships.
But the reality is that 1 in 3 girls stop playing sports once they get their period, and many more miss opportunities because they don’t have access to the pads and tampons they need. We’re here to change that.
By providing period care where it’s needed most, we’re helping level the playing field.
joni proudly provided free pads and tampons to the athletes of the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
We’re also proud sponsors of Canada’s professional women’s soccer league, the Northern Super League, supplying period care to players on the Calgary Wild and Vancouver Rise. Let's go!
Our commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion.
At joni, diversity, equity and inclusion form the foundation of our business model through our mission to make period equity possible, supported by our company values: unapologetic inclusivity, change the status quo, and radical transparency. Our small but mighty team is made stronger through diverse representation and we are constantly learning and expanding our minds so we can best empower everyone who menstruates.
