Victoria Alexander is the face behind The Elephant in the Womb, a space centred around reproductive health education and menstruality. With extensive post secondary education in anatomy, pathology, and menstruation she provides period coaching services for those seeking to mend their cycles and find balance in their hormones.

Victoria strives to further stand up for inclusive menstrual equity and actively works with local government to achieve LGBTQ+ centred period and pregnancy care options. She currently has a small clothing line and has been utilizing the profits to supply Indigenous communities of northern Canada with period products while we fight for their right to accessible products.

Her goal over the coming years is to navigate deeper into the political system to achieve menstrual equity for all in Canada and have our voices heard.

Why is fighting period poverty important to you?

Working toward menstrual equity is important to me because I was once in the position of having to wad toilet paper up into my underwear as a makeshift pad when I couldn't afford period products. A core value of my practice is the belief that every person who menstruates should be able to bleed safely and with dignity.

Why are you working with joni?

I work with joni because our values in menstruality align perfectly; sustainable, safe, inclusive period care. joni's support of other creators like myself in the period space means the world to me as it's an opportunity to provide their customers with accessible reproductive education.
